What Makes Me Different as a Massage Therapist for Tuscan Villas, Retreats, and Group Events
Choosing the Right Massage & Wellness Professional for Your Event in Italy
When you’re planning a retreat, a family gathering, or a wedding in Italy, choosing the right wellness professional matters. Not just for the quality of the massage—but for the entire experience. Logistics, trust, communication, and the ability to adapt gracefully are just as important as skilled hands.
Here’s what truly sets me apart.
A Decade of Professional Practice — and a License I’m Proud Of
I began my massage career in 2015, and I maintain an active Michigan massage therapy license to this day. Keeping this licensure current is intentional. Italy does not have a centralized licensing body that regulates training standards, ethics, or continuing education the way many U.S. states do.
Achieving—and maintaining—this license was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, and it remains a point of deep pride. To me, it represents mastery of anatomy, physiology, pathology, ethics, and professional standards, as well as an ongoing commitment to continuing education and excellence.
Experience Across Two Continents
With nearly a decade of hands-on practice spanning two continents, I’ve worked with thousands of people—each with different bodies, needs, injuries, emotional landscapes, and cultural expectations.
This breadth of experience allows me to adapt quickly, intuitively, and respectfully, whether I’m working with seasoned retreat participants, first-time massage clients, athletes, elders, or those navigating physical or emotional transitions.
A Trusted Professional on Your Team
When working with groups—especially when injuries, chronic conditions, or emotional vulnerability are present—having a knowledgeable, ethical professional you can trust is essential.
I am First Aid trained and certified, and I understand the importance of clear communication, safety, and calm presence. Having another competent professional on your team is always an advantage, especially when supporting guests in unfamiliar environments.
Extensive Event & Retreat Experience
Over the years, I’ve had the honor of:
Co-managing week-long retreats
Hosting and supporting group workshops
Collaborating with other wellness professionals
Providing massage for family reunions and groups of friends in Tuscan villas
Supporting brides in the weeks leading up to their wedding—and even the morning of the big day
I understand the rhythm of events, the emotional significance of milestones, and the need for flexibility when plans evolve.
Hospitality Is in My DNA
Before massage, I studied Hospitality Management and hold an Associate’s degree in the field. I spent over a decade working in restaurants, including catering and event service, and later served as the office manager for a successful massage therapy clinic early in my career.
Altogether, I bring over 20 years of hospitality experience, which means I don’t just focus on the treatment—I focus on the entire guest experience.
Logistics Matter — and I Plan for Them
I am fully independently mobile and arrive with all necessary equipment, often “over-packing” intentionally. From full linens and table warmers to pillows, bolsters, lighting, music, and even space heaters—I anticipate comfort needs before they arise.
I also help hosts realistically plan the day. Long days of yoga, massage, and activities often take more time than expected. I provide clear suggested timelines covering arrival, setup, session flow, buffer time, breakdown, and departure so expectations are aligned and stress is minimized.
Built-In Flexibility for Real Humans
Guests are on holiday—they don’t want to feel rushed. I intentionally build buffer time between sessions and speak with each guest beforehand to understand their preferences, needs, and boundaries. This allows every massage to be truly personalized and gives people time to transition gently back into their day.
Fluent, Mobile, and Culturally Fluent
I have a car, an Italian driver’s license, and provide all equipment needed for a professional on-site setup. Being bilingual and bicultural allows me to:
Communicate seamlessly with local staff and vendors
Anticipate and smooth over cultural differences in service styles
Set realistic expectations for international hosts
Clearly communicate allergies or special needs
Interface with emergency services if necessary
Even handle practical issues like following up on delayed luggage
These details matter more than people realize—until something goes wrong.
Calm, Clear, Reliable Presence
When working with groups, things rarely go exactly to plan. What matters is having someone on your team who shows up when and where agreed, communicates clearly, and adapts with grace.
I arrive early, prepared, and with a communicated plan. I respect people’s time deeply, treat everyone with professionalism and warmth, and pivot calmly when changes arise. Taking one variable off your plate allows you—and your guests—to relax.
A Holistic Wellness Offering for Groups
In addition to massage, I offer:
Yin yoga
Meditation
Ayurvedic self-massage workshops
Sound baths
Chair massage
These offerings are inclusive, approachable, and accessible for all levels, making them ideal for group settings. They help guests slow down, become introspective, and connect more deeply with their bodies—especially in retreat environments.
I also help guests develop a vocabulary for new sensations and experiences, fostering awareness and integration beyond the session itself.
Trauma-Informed, Emotionally Aware Care
Transformational experiences and bodywork can unlock deep emotions. I’m trained to support emotional release with sensitivity and respect—offering space, checking in, and honoring privacy.
Whether someone needs a pause, a quiet moment, or grounding reassurance, I hold the treatment space as sacred and confidential.
